GrubTub is an on-campus autonomous food delivery robot. It is designed to simplify order delivery on campus, since traditional delivery services do not navigate the interior of campus. The restaurant will place the order into GrubTub’s carrying cube, and the bot will do the rest. The robot will plan a route through campus and complete the delivery.
We aim to construct a robot that can navigate the sidewalks of campus to make multiple deliveries while avoiding any obstacles along the way. Our goal is that it will be efficient enough that it is faster than someone placing an order and going to pick it up on foot.
