Personal Build18 Garage Profile: here!
Build18 is an annual hardware hackathon in Carnegie Mellon’s Electrical and Computer Engineering department. Teams create a plan for a project, create a parts list, and build it during the first week of the second semester. Each team is given a budget of $300 maximum (Track 1), and a select few teams can choose to submit a proposal for extra funding (Track 2) to receive a (potentially) unbounded amount of money for their project.
This year, I became a Build18 Officer, and am deeply involved with making decision for and planning the event. I have always loved the concept behind Build18 and enjoy working to constantly improve it. This is a story of my experience organizing this amazing event.
